The Peace Project will enlist the participation of festival patrons to paint a community painting on a 5 1/2' by 8 1/2 ' canvas. Atlanta-based artists, Julie Ross and Tommy Lee, will lead the painting process with a theme of world peace, using the analogy of "whirled peas".
Julie's work has been displayed from New York City to South Africa to New Zealand, and she is currently at work with her "Visualize World Peas" theme, visualizing world peace on conscious and sub-conscious levels. She incorporates this message into her work by painting green spherical "peas." Julie believes that placing these symbols into her work triggers thoughts of peace to all people on all levels.
